This is an absolute favorite of my family and friends. One night I made a double batch to have leftovers for a friend who couldn't make it to a gathering. He admitted to eating the entire thing! I personally think that using refried BLACK beans is a key to the great taste. I've tried it with refried pinto, and it is still good, but not the same. I've also tried seasons refried beans, but it is also not quite the same. For my picky vegetable phobic friends, I usually only put the onions and tomato on only one side. Don't count on having any leftovers from this dip! I love that it doesn't need to be baked, so I can make it ahead of time (usually just the beans and sour cream, then add the rest closer to serving time) and don't need to worry about keeping it hot if I take it somewhere. You will be asked to make this again!!
