I have had this dip and it is very good.
In response to the question, how to layer the ingredients. Just layer everything in the order given.
After the beans are spread on the bottom, layer the sour cream, then the salsa, etc. Leave a little edge showing for each of the ingredients. That is, so you can see an edging of the beans, the white of the sour cream, the red of the salsa, etc. And keep it in a shallow dish as shown. We had someone make it in a very deep dish & they doubled the receipe but it wasn't easy to get all the ingredients in one dip of a chip/cracker.
