STOVE TOP One-Dish Chicken Bake

STOVE TOP One-Dish Chicken Bake recipe
Comfort food gets even cozier when stuffing is involved. Add chicken and sour cream and you've got a piping-hot reason to run, not walk, to the table.

This recipe is a classic that can be spun many different ways by adding different veggies and cheeses. I always add more sour cream and season the chicken well before I mix everything. I am making it tonight with brocolli, onions and a little cheddar cheese.

I used a lemon pepper rotisserie chicken cut up with cream of chicken & mushroom soup. I layered with stuffing, jalepenos, chicken mix and then cheddar cheese. I also spray my casserole dish inside & out with non stick spray for easy clean up. You can do so many variations with this basic recipe, green peppers, onions, garlic. It is always great!

This was a really yummy easy casserole. It doesn't take many ingredients and the flavors are just great! Even my 1 1/2 year old loved it! I added frozen peas and fresh sliced mushrooms and it was wonderful. Definately recommend it!

Very good! I tweaked it a bit by using Chicken Broth instead of water for the stuffing...same amount as called for. I also used 1 c. of Sour Cream and added some diced onion...about 3/4 c. I added an 8 oz. can of sliced mushrooms and doubled the Mushroom Soup to 2 cans...we are big mushroom lovers. I added 3/4 c. shredded cheddar to the soup and sour cream mix. I baked uncovered for 40 minutes, lightly peppered it after serving, and it was delish!! Will definitely make again...and again!

I have made this recipe several times in our RV oven. The chicken did not cook through when left whole, so the next time I cut it up into bite-sized pieces and spread it on bottom of pan. I also cut the recipe in half and used a smaller pan. Turned out great!
