We used skirt steak instead of the flank and a red pepper which we roasted on the grill, my husband did the grilling and I did the rest. We served it with garlic bread and curly fries, it was very tasty.

This is a recipe that many years ago I would enjoy at a resturant in Goldsboro PA with the added ingredient of curly french fries on the top as well. I have served this to my family and friends many times in the summer months with great success. I will continue to make this for years to come.

This is very similar to a recipe that I have made for a crowd. Instead of Flank steak, we use very thick cut (2 inches or so) boneless sirloin which we cook on the grill. We slice the sirloin thin and serve it at room temp on a tray with Romaine, sliced and cherry tomatoes and red onion slices. We then serve various salad toppings on the side (Blue cheese, mozzarella, etc) and several different salad dressings. We also have an assortment of small sandwich rolls, butter and horseradish sauce. Our guests have the option of making a salad with or without beef, and choosing toppings, and/or making a steak sandwich. This has proven to be a real crowd pleaser.

This was so tatsy! My grill was out of fuel, so I just broiled the steak, instead.

Nice salad! I've never had any meat other than chicken on top of my salad. Thanks for convincing me to eat outside the box.
