Makes a great birthday cake! I used chocolate chip ice cream and it was very tasty. I love that it can be made a day ahead and that it serves so many.

If I can make this, anyone can. I have limited experience in the kitchen and the end product looked very much like the recipe photo. It tasted great too.

Made this for Memorial Day which was also husband's bday, and everyone loved it. It looked just like the picture. I also added two very ripe thinly sliced bananas over the chocolate before the ice cream. Husband doesn't care for chocolate ice cream, so I used a S'more ice cream, and it was delish! I made the crust and chocolate the night before and finished it the next morning to eliminate some of the wait times too. Broiled right before serving, so the top was warm and had that great toasted marshmallow aroma! Yummy!

Use a marshmallow flavored ice cream and torch the marshmallows on top. The chocolate ice cream overpowers everytthing else.

The magazine instructions say 6oz of Bakers chocolate which makes more sense. Also the recipe should refer to cracker sheets, not crackers. Definitely a make-a-day-ahead dessert. I would place in freezer after toasting marshmallows; top of chocolate ice cream was a little soupy. Also ours didn't look as pretty because chocolate seeped up to the face of the crackers. Must have pushed crackers into chocolate too much

I can't believe nobody has reviewed this recipe yet! We love s'mores. The cake was very good, in spite of the fact that after adding the chocolate layer and arranging the graham crackers around the sides, I dropped the pan trying to put it in the freezer! Chocolate on the floor, graham crackers falling every which way. I reassembled those, and continued with the recipe! The only thing I didn't like was all the waiting time at various steps in the recipe.
