Just because it’s a holiday classic doesn’t mean it has to be difficult to make. This juicy, browned, delicious bird takes just 15 minutes to get oven-ready.

What You Need

lb. breakfast pork sausage

1-1/2

cups hot water

pkg. (6 oz. each) STOVE TOP Stuffing Mix for Turkey

BUTTERBALL® Frozen Whole Turkey (10 lb.), thawed

Make It

HEAT oven to 325°F.

BROWN sausage in skillet; drain, reserving 1/2 cup drippings. Add drippings to large bowl; stir in hot water. Add stuffing mixes and sausage; stir just until stuffing mixes are moistened.

STUFF neck and body cavities lightly with stuffing. Truss turkey; place, breast-side up, on rack in large roasting pan sprayed with cooking spray. Spoon any remaining stuffing into separate baking dish sprayed with cooking spray; cover. Refrigerate stuffing until ready to bake.

BAKE turkey 3 to 3-1/4 hours or until internal temperature of thigh is 180°F and breast and center of stuffing are 165°F, adding dish with remaining stuffing to oven for the last 30 min.

I would just like to say I agree with the last comment, about making a stuffing from a box isent cooking.. I make a cornbread dressing with giblets and eggs,poulty seasoning,celeary,onions,and some of the juice off of the giblets after they have been cooked.. and stuff the turkey with it. yummy...

add 1/2 cup apple cider and one cup water. add 1 grannysmith apple finely chopped. this will make it better

anyone that uses stove top or pre cut bread cubes are assembling not cooking. Take the time to use fresh bread and piece it yourself..for some real texture and flavor use a half loaf of black marble rye and some slivered almonds

I have been making turkey and sausage dressing for about 35 years. In fact, if I would serve turkey any other way, I probably would get disowned by the family. Stove Tops good, but I brown the sausage (drain the fat), & add it with chopped onion, celery, a little warm warm to moisten to about 2 bags of bread cubes. Leftovers, if there are any, are the best. This recipe is a family tradition. :)

I cook for a large family, using Italian sausage, removing the skin, and add fresh garlic and onion when I saute. Absolutely delicious. Fresh parsley is a must.

Almost like mine except I use homemade cornbread and add celery and dried cranberries.
