Wow, this is still around? I've been making this since my niece and nephew were little, about 35 years. I use M&Ms for the tie & eyes, frosting for the other features. You can color the coconut pink for the ears by putting a couple drops of food coloring in a container with the coconut and shaking it. Sometimes I make side sheet cake for the "Easter eggs" with green colored coconut for grass, spreading speckled malt candy eggs around for the "hunting ground." Or use the peanut M&Ms. Kids love it, as do the adults. Use other molds and you can make hills, and add marshmallow chicks & bunnies.

I have made this cake for nearly 40 years. Sometimes I make it as a jello poke cake. I just bake and cool the cake, cut the pieces and put them on the covered board and then poke and pour the jello mixture, cool and spread cool whip and decorate. Delicious and fun!

I can't believe this same recipe is still around. I've been married 29 years and made it years before I met my husband. Very easy and everyone loves it.

I made this for my grandaughter for Easter. She loved it! So did the adults! I used a marble cake mix instead of white to add more flavor. Since the cake is large and required refrigeration I'll use whipped topping next time. Save space in my fridge!!

This cake is very easy and watching the video make it easier. I enjoyed making it and played around with different candies. I did not use cool whip for the frosting but bought whipped frosting (needed 2) instead. I do not like using cool whip because it doesn't hold up and needs to be stored in the refrig. If you want the eyes to look better try frosting peanut butter easter eggs and use a malt ball egg for the pupil and pull a part licorice for eye lashes. (very cute) Oh, the next time I make this receipe I'm going to use chocolate cake instead. The white cake gave it a plain taste.

This cake was a lot easier to make than I thought it would be. The kids loved it. I was unable to find strawberry cool whip anywhere. The one thing I would change is next time I plan on using cake frosting either a lone or mixed with cool whip. The cool whip alone turned waxy.
