I made this for Thanksgiving 3 year in a row. It is addictive...
Impressive appearance and delicious. Worth the effort to make!
I have made this cake three times and it is a marvelous cake. The latest was for a Mother's Day Appreciation at work. The cake was made in a 11 x 15 sheet cake pan and it was an eye catching display of a cake. Better than that it was delicious with the caramel and extra pecans. The talk spread around the job before the event started.
Great if you love pumpkin, which we do.
This is my family's new favorite to replace pumpkin pie! They all love it. I left the pecans and sauce out to the side for people to garnish as they choose for those who are not nut lovers.
I have made this recipe twice now and it was a hit both times! The first time I was a little nervous about putting too much filling between the cake because I did not want it to gush out the side when I put the cake on top, but it did not do that at all.
I am not a fan of pumpkin anything, but I love this cake. I have made it several times and always get rave reviews. I always refer them to making it right now for the Church Christmas party tomorrow.
OMG this cake was off the chain!!!!! everyone LOVED LOVED LOVED this cake. Only one word to say AWESOME. you MUST make! :)
Love this cake! I've made it twice. It's a huge hit. I have square not round pans, and use walnuts not pecans, and skip the caramel drizzle, I put a last dollop of the frosting on top like a "medallion", sprinkle with chopped walnuts and top with a dusting of powdered sugar. ( I also put chopped walnuts between the layers on top of frosting). Very good Very pretty.
I baked this for an office luncheon. I made it just like the recipe said and it was delicious! I baked the cake the night before, made the filling, but didn't assemble it until right before the luncheon. It was the talk of the luncheon! I would definitely make this again. I read in another baker's review that she made cupcakes out of it, and I'd love to try that idea!
