After reading all the glowing reviews, I was extremely disappointed in this cake. I followed the directions to the T. First of all, the cake stuck in the pan. I thought maybe I just didn't grease and flour the pan well. But after the bottom of the cake came out, the top fell out pretty much in one piece. The caramel sauce was a bother to make. After drizzling on the topping, I cut a piece and hoped for the best. Like I said before, disappointing. The cake itself was bland and the only thing the apples did was make the cake soggy. I made this cake last night and after coming home from work this afternoon, I found that the caramel had soaked into the cake, making it even more soggy. What a waste of time and ingredients. I can't even think of any improvements that would make this cake better. I'll keep looking.
