You need more liquid with this recipe. I doubled the BBQ sauce and added a cup of beef broth and it still wasn't quite enough. I can't imagine how dry the beef would have been if I followed the recipe exactly. Kraft should look at this recipe again.
Great crock pot meal and a unique twist on beef stew with the bar-b-q sauce added. My husband and I got three meals from the recipe and the last meal had been frozen. It did seem to taste better the second and third meal, probably because the sauce really set in to the flavor. I did 'cheat' a bit on the peas and added extra since the bag I purchased was a larger bag than the recipe specified, but it seemd to improve the meal. Love this recipe since it is easy and great tasting.
I made this recipe exactly like the video said and she even says in the video it doesn't seem like a lot of liquid but it will be fine. Well i put it on and went to class and needless to say it burned and we couldn't even eat it, and yes it was on low.
This was easy and delicious! I added a little more BBQ sauce to make it saucier and while cooking the meat I shook some McCormicks Grill Mates Mesquite Seasoning over each batch just to add a little flavor to the meat. It was great! Will definitely make this again.
Good flavor..... Personal preference: NO PEAS! Takes away from taste. Maybe mushrooms instead?!
Very, very good! I didn't add the coffee on top or add peas, but this was still superb. Definitely try it.
I cut this recipe in half for my husband and I. The flavor was great but the meat was very dry. I will try adding the beef broth next time. I liked the addition of the coffee. When doing half recipe, don't go over 7 hrs on low.
This was ok and would make it again but was expecting slightly more stew like texture.
Great idea subbing the coffee for worcester sauce, as I don't use instant coffee. All kinds of game would be great, I plan on using venison!! Even buffalo meat is good.
This was excellent!! I pretty much followed the recipe, with a few minor changes. I browned the meat with a little onion and garlic. I used fingerling potatoes and the small carrots you get in bags. I added a tablespoon of Worstershire sauce instead of using the coffee (got that tip from someone else that posted a review). I also added a small can of mushrooms when I put in the peas. I will be making this a lot this winter!!!
