Pretty easy dessert, however cutting the shortcake was a pretty messy job. In all, turned out very well.
I have made this recipe a few times but this last time, it did not turn out as great...does anyone recognize a change in the ingredients or how much to use of each ingredient?? my shortcake did not brown and it was still doughy! but in the past its been perfect when i follow the directions perfectly!
I made this recipe, my dad loved it. It was very good. It was sweet and perfect. I don't think it's worth making, because everything that I bought to make this cake costed me $13.00. I'd rather buy it.
This is a great dessert. I'm making it again for a party tomorrow. The only advice I would give is to make sure the cake pan is really greased.
I made this cake for my father in laws 62nd birthday and he loved it more than any cake he can remember. I used fat free cool whip and splenda instead of sugar and youn could not even taste the difference. very yummy. i could eat the whole thing!!!!

I amazes me how many complaints there were about this being like biscuits.Apparently they dont know traditional shortcake is biscuit.You would also think they could tell by reading the ingredient list.Why they thought something with biscuit mix would end up like angel food cake is beyond me.So much for common sense.I thought this was very good.Of course,I actually read the recipe or had cooked before to know what it would turn out like.
GREAT!!! I used low fat sour cream, fat-free & sugar-free vanilla pudding, Heart Healthy/Smart Bisquick, and COOL WHIP still was the best Strawberry shortcake we've ever had!
Made this for the 4th, added some blueberries to make it festive. It was super easy, and I didn't add the sugar to the berries, it was sweet enough without it.
The "shortcake" made with biscuit mix made my shortcake look crumbly and yucky. It still tasted good, though.
