I made this with a pound cake instead of "short cake". Everyone loved the pudding/whipped cream with the strawberries. Excellent, a new family favorite!
I made this salad because it looks great and I had eaten it before and liked it. I think that the onion is a predominate flavor in it and would either use less (alot less) or none at all next time. Also, I thought it needed a little more mayo maybe a full cup instead of 3/4. I used light mayo and it was very good. I just think the onion was a little over powering.
This was a huge hit at my house! I made it using Splenda instead of sugar, low-fat sour cream, fat free whipped cream and sugar free/fat free pudding. It was still great and no one knew the difference!

I have made this twice for different functions and everyone loved it. The second time I made it when several people with Diabetes would be there and I used equal in the cake and on the strawberries with sugar free pudding and sugar free cool whip. The only sugar was in the Bisquick mix. It was great, although the cake was not as fluffy. I also used fat free sour cream. This is definitely a dessert I can eat and not feel guilty about!
Excellent and easy! I used an angel food cake also and it was wonderful. It looked as though I was in the kitchen all day. I took this to a holiday dinner party and everyone loved it!!!!!

I made this for my family and the "cake" part was so dry. I re-tried the recipe with an already prepared Angel cake. I sliced the cake and applied the mixture - it was much better!!
The finished shortcake was stunning, but lacking in the taste department. I wouldn't say it was unpleasant, just subpar.
Easy and very yummy!
