I absolutely love this cake.I have made it numerous times. It turns out wonderful and everyone i have made it for, have enjoyed it . It's very easy to make and looks and tastes just like it's from the store.
Another great cake from your kitchen. Regarding the jello mixture, I only used about 3/4 of the mixture, because I thought it might make the cake too soggy. It came out perfect. Great tasting cake and not that difficult to make.
yum! Easy recipe, perfect for any occasion.
Wonderful! My grocery store didn't have french vanilla Cool-Whip so I used regular and it tasted great!
I made this cake for my Mom's birthday and she LOVED it. Everyone was impressed with how beautiful it was and how great it tasted.
Wow! What a great cake! I made this twice- once with regular Cool Whip and once with the French Vanilla- get the French Vanilla if you can, it makes a huge difference. I used the whole amount of Jello the recipe called for and it wasn't soggy at all, in fact it was just the right amount and gave the cake a very nice, subtle cherry flavor. I used sugar free Jello to cut down on the calories a little bit and there was absolutely no difference in taste or texture. I highly recommend this recipe!
I baked this as a birthday cake for my friend last weekend and everyone loved it, it was very moist. I did alter it a little by using raspberry Jell-O and fresh raspberries to decorate. I also stewed some raspberries for the filling. After reading some of the reviews about the cake getting soggy, I only poured about 2 1/2 small laddles of the Jell-O on each layer. I will definitley make this one again.
I've made this recipe a lot of times for my family and for friends, changing the presentation from time to time. Sometimes I use chocolate shavings on top of the cake, too. Unless my husband tells our guest that I made the cake, they think that it's store bought =)
I made this cake several times, and will make again. I love the light white frosting. But between the layers I used a chocolate frosting (home made) and some more cherries. Wonderful! Next time I will try to use another gelatin or syrup , so the cherry taste will not overpower the chocolate layers' taste. We never have enough of this cake.
I made this cake for a birthday party. Everybody loved it. I wasn't able to find the french vanilla cool whip, so I used regular cool whip instead and it turned out wonderful. It is a very easy recipe to make and I will make this again.
