I am making these brownies for party tomorrow. The texture will be different because of the applesauce. Using that will make the brownies a little healthier. I've made brownies like that before and we ate the whole pan in a night.
I was excited to make these as my mom used to make these all the time...I think I need to get mom's recipe as these were NOT that great. Weird consistency. Weird flavor. Not gooey like mom's. The search continues!
Oh my gosh, these are addicting. Yum! you have to try them, I made them for my mom's dinner today and my husband and I ate 3 a piece. Although I did make my brownies the way the box says instead of with applesauce, but I did the cream cheese the way it called for and mine wasn't spongey like another review said. I will definetly be making these again. So easy!!
Overall, it tasted a bit "rubbery". I personally didn't care for them but since my Fiance liked them...I guess I'll be making them again...
As mentioned by other reviews, consistency was slightly different from your normal brownie, but taste was superb! Great recipe if you want to majorly cut the fat, calories, and cholesterol without the taste!
This recipe did taste good and the brownie part was very moist and flavorful. I liked that the recipe substituted applesauce for oil. However, the reason I probably won't make these again is because the cheesecake part of the brownies had a very odd texture. They were...spongey. So if you can get past that, they're good, but I just thought the texture was too strange.
I'm a chocoholic and I made these because my DIL is on a diet. They were very moist and cake-like. They were sweeter than I expected for a healthy version. I ate as many as DIL. Very good for "diet".
Was OK. Brownies were cakey, not fudgey.
I made these the way it said and the brownies were cake like and rubbery. I would try again and use whole eggs, oil and some sort of flavoring in the cream cheese mix.
I just made this and omg it is so good.U have to try this!
