Easy to make and really good. My only complaint is that if you don't eat them right away, storing them in the refrigerator causes the candy sticks and red hots to get soft and bleed.

Kids loved decorating these cakes! VERY easy for me to prep ahead of time and let the kids do their own thing. Great Idea!

When I make this recipe, I will use large pretzel rods for the trunks to give the Tree Cakes a more realistic look. Great idea! Can't wait to make them for the holidays!

Very cute idea! However not very easy to frost if you cut it first. Because I made the cake green I also tinted my frosting green. I suggest frosting the cake first before cutting and then freeze it, once froze cut into tree shapes. Much easier than trying to frost the trees individually. Also this way only the tops and the bottoms of the cakes will be frosted leaving the green cake on the outsides exposed.

We had such a ball doing these. My 5 year old, 7 year old, husband and myself really enjoyed the family time together!! After we were done decorating the treecake we decorated our real tree...Cannot say enough on how easy this was to make and how much fun we had doing it!! If you watch the video on how to make and follow her instructions you are garanteed a flawless cut!!Thanks KRAFT for another outstanding recipe!!!

Found much easier to cut cake before icing it. Tasty and fun!

So easy! So well-received! I made them all alike so there was no quibbling. I put each on a paper doily to make it easier to handle. And using food coloring in the batter itself means not icing a cut cake edge which can be difficult. Very clever!
