I made this cake for a work party and it was a hit! I made two small changes: I used a 10" spring form pan (larger than this recipe calls for) so it required a little more of all the ingredients (I just kind of eye-balled it). I also skipped the hot fudge on top in favor of miniature chocolate chips instead. Everyone loved it, and I will probably make it again for a family birthday later this month.
I made this to take to my child's school for his birthday. I modified by making "cupcakes". I placed cupcake liners in a muffin pan. Next, placed an Oreo cookie in bottom of each muffin cup. then followed recipe by scooping a layer of ice cream, whipped topping, Oreo crumbs, ice cream, and finally whipped topping again. Drizzled each cupcake with hot fudge before taking to school. The hardest part was keeping it frozen while transporting. Kids and teachers all loved it.
I don't usually review recipes, but this one was so outstanding....made it for a birthday cake and everyone went nuts over it! Made it in a 10 inch springform pan and added a layer of chopped pecans in the middle. It was a little too chocolatey for me, with the cookies and syrup on top. Maybe next time, I'll use vanilla instead of chocolate ice cream.
Made this for my husband and his friends for a party! It was so good, I used their favorite Ice Cream from the loval creamery. Very rich, but very good.
Awesome! made this for dinner party, everyone loved it, think next time will experiment with different flavors and cookies.
I made two of these ice cream cakes the other day. Easy recipe & they turned out great. I used the pints of ben & jerry's ice cream - peanut butter cup & chocolate and mint chocolate cookie & vanilla. Needed some help pulling the saran wrap off the bottom of the cake though. Melted the hot fudge in the microwave, poured it into a zip lock bag, snipped the corner & drizzled the hot fudge over the top. It was a big hit at the party!
I made this for my daughter's "sweet 16" birthday party. It was a big hit. As a matter of fact my granddaughter asked me to make it for her birthday which was a month later!
So pretty and any store bought ice cream cake. It was effortless, and it looked like I spent hours on this cake. I was so proud of my cake. I have a feeling everyone is gonna ask for this one.....
This has been my daughter's favorite birthday cake the last 2 years-her friends asked if she was having it again. It's easy to make and the result is awesome. I just use different ice creams as to what they like more.
This recipe was very easy to make and it was very good. I used chocolate and Vanilla ice cream because I couldn't find strawberry alone. I then used strawberries for the topping. Will definetly do again. :)
