3rd time and all 3 times it never got hard enough - candy thernometer said 234. what am i doing wrong?? kim

I used a 12oz pkg of semi sweet choc chips and (2) jars of marshmallow creme instead of the 1 and this made the fudge a lot creamier. I have made this recipes this way for 30 years and everyone wonders how I get it creamier.

Old family favorite using the older version on the jar with choc, chips and cooking for 5 min. or soft ball stage...never fail...

Here is the old recipe with chocolate chips.....3 c. sugar 3/4 c. butter 2/3 c. evaporated milk 1-12oz. package semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 7oz jar Kraft marshmallow creme 1 c. chopped nuts 1 t. vanilla extract Cook the same way (but it usually takes about 5 min. instead of the 4 min. in the new recipe).

This is a very tasty fudge recipe that I have made several times. Very easy, just make sure to have a candy thermometer. Also you can cut the sugar and butter down by half if you plan on using this recipe. I usally make a double batch using only 3 cups of sugar, 14oz marshmellow cream, and 1 lg can of evaporated milk. I prefer to use a bag of reese's peanut butter chips and pour half of the mixture into a pan. Then I pour in a bag of semi sweet chocolate chips and pour that over the peanut butter layer. Perfect everytime.

A-Maz-ING! Wonderful! I left the nuts out because my mom can't eat them, and I made them for Mother's Day. I did the 12 oz bag of chocolate chips version since I thought it would be faster, and it turned out perfect! Definately needed the 13x9 pan, not the 9x9 one! Make sure to read the stuff BELOW the recipe before you start. It was perfect and everyone at work loved the leftovers I took!
