Slow-Cooker Saucy Swiss Steak

Throw together the fixin's in the morning and enjoy a steak-and-peppers main simmering in a tomato-based sauce for dinner. Melty Swiss cheese is the clincher.

What You Need

1/4

cup KRAFT Zesty Italian Dressing

boneless beef chuck steak (1 lb.), cut into 4 pieces

1/4

cup flour

1/4

cup tomato paste

can (14-1/2 oz.) diced tomatoes, undrained

1/2

cup beef broth

green pepper, chopped

cups hot mashed potatoes

1/2

cup shredded KRAFT Swiss Cheese

Make It

HEAT dressing in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat. Meanwhile, coat meat with flour; gently shake off excess flour. Add meat to skillet; cook 2 to 3 min. on each side or until evenly browned on both sides. Remove from heat.

COMBINE tomato paste, tomatoes and broth in slow cooker. Add meat and peppers; cover with lid. Cook on LOW 8 to 10 hours (or on HIGH 3 to 4 hours).

SERVE over potatoes; top with cheese.

This recipe is great. Very easy to put together, cooked all day on low. The meat was fork tender and the sauce was perfect. My husband and 8 year old loved it and want me to make it again.

I have made this recipe several times. This dish is delicious! The recipe is simple and it doesn't need a lot of ingredients. I use two pounds of Beef Eye Round steaks and they come out so tender that you could cut them with a fork.

This dish turned out amazing! The taste was superb! The shredded swiss on top added an amazing touch. We make it at least once a month now! My only suggestion would be to add a little more meat than what the recipe calls for so there are more leftovers! And if you can't find shredded swiss (I couldn't find it anywhere) buy a block of swiss and shred it yourself:)
