I made my own version of this. I used shredded carrots and chopped cucumber in place of the celery and waterchestnuts, I left out the pecans (not a fan of nuts in sandwiches) and I added some sliced green onions. I think my version was much better.

This was a pretty easy dinner for a warm summer night. I really liked how cruchy the celery, water chestnuts and pecans made it!

This is a yummy recipe! I was out of celery & water chesnuts the day I tried it, so I added abt. 1/2 cup raisins instead and miracle whip in place of the mayo. The kids loved it!

Oh - And I used Sunflower seeds instead of pecans. Either one was wonderful!

This was great for lunch. I used black olives instead of the nuts. My children asked for the same thing three days in a row.

A nice change from the usual tuna salad recipes. I made it for a ladies' lunch and everyone enjoyed it. I found it just a little bland, so I added some onion and a bit of garlic. The water chestnuts and pecans add a nice crunch.

The pecans added just the right kick! I omitted the water chestnuts, used romaine lettuce and next time might added a chopped up boiled egg. Very good recipe, very refreshing and doesn't make you feel stuffed.
