PHILADELPHIA Black Forest Cheesecake recipe

Germany can take credit for the chocolate cake and cherry combination, but this cheesecake version owes its creaminess to the City of Brotherly Love.

I had to use double the amount of cookies called for to make the crust. I don't see how it can be made with the number of cookies called for in the recipe. Other than that, it was absolutely delicious and gobbled up by everyone. Fool-proof cheesecake and I've made tons! None were this easy, or delicious. Love the tip about the foil handles to get it out of a 9x13 pan for serving.

Delicious! The chocolate flavor is rich, but not too sweet and the cool whip and cherries are a great addition! I would defintely make this again. Maybe the reviewers below used unsweeten chocolate instead of the semi-sweet.

It would be better to leave the chocolate out of the filling and use it for chocolate curls on top of the finished cake. I also added 2 Tbs. White Creme de Cocoa to the filling for a subtle cocoa flavor.

It wasn't that bad, however, it wasn't the star of the night either. Next time I'll try adding less chocolate to make it less bitter.

This recipe is fabulous! I've made it 2 times, and each time everyone absolutely loved it. I substituted fat free ingredients everywhere I could, and it turned out just perfect.
