Southwest Stuffed Burgers

What You Need

lb. extra-lean ground beef

1/4

cup KRAFT Light Mayo Reduced Fat Mayonnaise, divided

pkg. (1-1/4 oz.) TACO BELL® HOME ORIGINALS® Taco Seasoning Mix

1/2

cup KRAFT 2% Milk Shredded Colby & Monterey Jack Cheeses

1/4

cup TACO BELL® HOME ORIGINALS® Thick 'N Chunky Salsa, divided

whole wheat hamburger buns

lettuce leaves

large tomato, cut into 6 slices

Make It

HEAT greased grill to medium-high heat.

MIX meat, 3 Tbsp. mayo and seasoning mix; shape into 12 thin patties. Combine cheese and 2 Tbsp. salsa; spoon onto 6 patties. Cover with remaining patties; pinch edges to seal.

GRILL 7 min. on each side or until done (160ºF). Meanwhile, combine remaining salsa and mayo.

FILL buns with lettuce, tomatoes, burgers and salsa mixture.

Stuffed patties can be stored in refrigerator up to 4 hours before grilling as directed.

Substitute

Substitute 93% lean ground turkey for the ground beef.

I used turkey burger instead of the ground beef and they truned out great. I will be making these again soon.

I used guacamole instead of the mayo sauce. It was really good. Flavorful and delicious! Very moist, maybe add breadcrumbs to keep it together. A must try recipe and healthy too!

This was a tasty burger however I used buffalo meat instead of burger or turkey and it fell apart very easy. The first time I stuffed them and then second time I just mixed everything together and then formed patties, either way they still fell apart.

This burger was amazing! I was disappointed that I too full after the first to eat a second. The mayo was really great as well! I will make this again!

I will make this recipe again, however I think that turkey is too soft a meat to be able to mold around the cheese and salsa. I just put the salsa IN the mixture and made burgers out of the meat mixture without stuffing it. It's very difficult, for me, to stuff this soft of meat...it was too hard to mold this soft of mixture. Was very tasty my way tho!

These burgers were phenomenol! It isn't often that I eat a burger that is beyond delicious, but this one definately was. Will absolutely make this one again!

This is one of the best burgers I have ever had! It was very easy to make and I already had all of the ingredients in my kitchen.
