Made this recipe for the first tipe as appetizer for Thanksgiving. Everyone loved it, as did I. It was really good. I used a "sweet" onion, as we did not have vidalia. And I added some pepper. Absolutley delicious. I will not make onion dip from a packet again!

Amazing dip! Always requested now. I have started making it with cheddar and it's wonderful with Ritz or wheat thins. Awesome potluck dish or game night.

This is a good recipe. I thought it tasted too rich, but my guests loved it. It is a good recipe for a quick dip.

not impressed with this recipe. It did not turn out greasy like the other comments had suggested, however this just did not hit a home run with my family or guests.

I have made this recipe several times. I use 8 oz grated Swiss cheese and I top it with 1/4 c. of fresh grated parmesan on top prior to baking. I have substituted Miracle Whip for the mayo, but I prefer the mayo. My mom prefers the Miracle Whip.

Best dip ever and so easy. Made it a few times already and plan to make it again. Sauteed yellow onions (couldn't get vidalia) in a pan first to soften. Delicious!!!

Two cups of mayo? I wonder if light mayo would be a better choice? I haven't made this recipe, but I'm thinking I would carmelize the onions in skillet with a touch of butter first. I bet that would tone down the onion flavor, make it a bit more mellow.

Made this for a fall picnic - was a big hit. I used Maya onions. No one believed it was that easy to make.

I made this dip according to the recipe but it turned out very greasy, I'm not sure if it was because I used an off-brand mayo or what. I re-made it using sour cream in place of the mayo and it looked better, but the onion smell was very strong and it tasted very bland. I used an onion that was labeled "sweet" since we don't have vidalia's available this time of year. Would like to try again when we have vidalia's readily available.
