Mac & Cheese for dinner? What kids wouldn't love it, and mom even get to add veggies!
I have made this a couple of times now, my kids love it and it's easy, they even eat the broccoli! I have made it with smoked sausage as well, also very good. When your pressed for time this is an easy way to serve mac-n-cheese for dinner and not feel too guilty about it.
This recepie was so easy make with a fast clean-up. My family doesn't like onions so I just leave that out and it still tastes terffic.
My husband and son do not like broccoli but I was able to get them to eat it with this. It is Mac-n- Cheese only better!
We liked it...definately beats meat, veggie, and mac as a side. And it goes all in one easy to clean up, too. I used chicken broth instead of plain water...I also doubled the mac so it would stretch to our family of six. I mixed the sour cream and cheese powder together in a small bowl so that it would blend in better. My only recommendation is to put the broccoli in a few minutes AFTER the mac. It got a little TOO done. Oh, and finely chop the onions!
My family loved this recipe!! It really changed how we do mac n cheese. We never thought broccolli would go well, but we were pleasantly suprised! It is now in my rotation of food making.
I made this without the chicken and cooked chicken cutlets on the side , My husband and I enjoyed it so much. Next time I will try it will the chicken but what a great easy week night dish.

My husband and I enjoyed this new version of mac and cheese. I added some red pepper flakes which gave it more kick. It was pretty good...very creamy.
I loved this dish! My roomate who NEVER eats anything I cook ate this and absolutely loved it. He asked me to make it again and I plan to!
