I thought this was a great and super easy recipe. I love potato soup, but I hate the hassle of making it from scratch. This is a great compromise. I did make a few adjustments to the recipe as recommended in a few other reviews. I added some garlic powder and minced onion--I thought that really helped the flavor! I also added a little flour to help thicken it up. Overall, a great soup! I will be making this again!
This is a great, quick and easy recipe! Love it on cold days with the quick cheddar bread!
Watch out for soup sticking to the bottom of the pan, even while cooking it on low-heat over the stove top.
This recipe, tweeked, was delicious. I took the advice of another reviewer to use 1 1/2 cups milk, 1 1/2 cups chicken broth, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 2 cloves garlic, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/8 tsp pepper. I added half the cheese to the soup before serving. Over all, it is a quick meal and had good flavor.
Very bland, I had to add tons of garlic powder, salt, and pepper to make it edible.
This is one of the best soups I've ever made or eaten! My husband loves it! I make it all the time in the fall and winter months.
Pretty Good! I added a little garlic, and pepper and served it in a bread bowl. Looks good for entertaining.
I added the bacon earlier and about a teaspoon of garlic, yummy!!
I gave this recipe 5 stars but only after I tweeked the recipe to my liking. Here's what I did. Instead of 3 cups of milk I used 1 1/2 cups of milk and 1 1/2 cups of chicken broth. I also added 1/2 teas onion pwd., 2 cloves of garlic, 1/4 teas salt, and 1/8 teas of pepper. That really helped with the flavor and it wasn't bland at all! After bringing the soup to a boil on high I only turned it down to med-high and frequently stirred for the 10 mins. Then when the soup was finished I added about 1cup to 1 1/2 cup of shredded cheese. It made it amazing and just like the potato soup I make from scratch but easier! YUMMY!
i added a little bit of flour to thicken it and lots of salt and pepper. i also melted in a little bit of colby-jack cheese before adding more cheddar on top. my fiance thought that it was from outback! =)
