This chowder was delicious, and SO easy to make. Without oil or butter, I also threw the green onions and bacon in the pot first to sweat some of the flavor out of both. Then I threw in the 2 cups of potatoes. Once everything started to smell really good, I put in the soup and milk as directed. The trick to make everything thicker is to let it reduce more than the recipe calls for. Once I got it boiling, I let it simmer on medium high heat until all the ingredients were suspended in the broth, also stirring constantly to avoid boil over. I added some garlic and celery to the recipe as well. This soup came out hearty, and thick like a chowder should be.
