I substituted a small can of mild diced chili for the Jalapeno. My whole family loved it. Simple, hearty, and delicious.
The only thing I changed was delete the chile powder and in its place is 1 tbl Ancho chile pepper, 1 tbl Chipotle chile pepper and 1 tbl Cocoa chile blend. McCormick Gourmet Collection has these. What a difference this made.
The first time I made this, I used canned chili beans instead and put the cilantro on the side, and everyone loved it!! The last time I used the kidney beans and added in the cilantro, it was good to me but everyone else liked it better the first time. Just a thought to share! I think it's a fantastic and easy recipe!
I love it!!! I don't really enjoy eating chilli, I make it for my husband " he love's chilli " I ate some of it and loved it this is my 4th time I make it and and just can get enought of it.
This was without a doubt an instant family favorite. The last time I made it, I ground up some leftover London broil and it was fabulous -- my one secret ingredient that add... chocolate kisses!!! The seem to dull some of the hotness of the jalepeno peppers. Sometimes I don't even add the hot peppers, because I have kids that don't like them... So I simmer the peppers in alittle tomato sauce, juice whatever I have... Then those who like hot peppers can add them and those who don't like them don't have to Pick them out!! Definitely try this one!!!
It's one of those dishes you know is really easy but everyone enjoys so much they think it must have taken you hours. Lots of compliments and gratitude for the warm happy tummies when I served this at a family get together.
Just like the title says - easy chili - very good - my husband and kids loved it
A very good simple chili recipe. The flavors all meld together wonderfully. I some pasta noodles to go along with the chili. My husband ate it all up and went for seconds and thirds.
Quick & easy.
Loved the recipe, it was perfect!
