Layered Meatball Bake

Layered Meatball Bake recipe
Meatballs and peas bake in a casserole topped with savory stuffing and melted Cheddar. It's exactly as crowd-pleasing as it sounds.

I made this over the weekend, I liked it alot, and my 1 year old loved it! I was glad that I found this recipe because my daughter is a big fan of meatballs and peas! So this was perfect. One thing that I would keep in mind before you make this is to remember to defrost the meatballs! (if you are using pre-made frozen kind) I had to keep mine in the oven for an extra 5 minutes because the meatballs were still a little cold inside.

My fiance and I both enjoyed this recipe but think that next time we'll try a different cream-based soup and a more flavorful cheese than cheddar. This time around, for a little extra flavor we used garlic powder, onion salt, and some seasoning salt prior to baking. We also baked for closer to 30 minutes to fully cook the meatballs.

Neither my children nor myself liked it. Meatballs and stuffing is NOT a good combination! We ended up eating a little and the rest went in the trash. I've loved many recipes from this website, but this is one I'm putting a big RED "X" through!

This was very good. Even my picky eater went back for seconds. I made no changes to the reciepie other than I shredded my own cheese (kraft cheddar 2% milk.) For some reason I don't like using pre-shredded cheese. I give it a 3 out of 5 only because I think the cooking time is all wrong! After 25 minutes the cheese still had not melted and the meatballs were not fully cooked. I let the dish bake for an extra 15 minutes. Otherwise, KRAFT, I'd rate this a 5 of 5. Next time I plan on letting the meatballs thaw first.
