Slow-Cooker Orange-BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches

Slow-Cooker Orange-BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches recipe
Juice from an orange adds a sweet tang to long-simmering pulled pork, just right to pile on soft bread. This will raise the bar in your BBQ—no grill required.

Quite good. I added a fresh orange rind for that added zest.

Turned out great. Added 1 onion and used 1/2 cup orange juice. skipped the mayo, but added sharp cheddar cheese to the sandwich. Kids loved it.

I made this recipe but with corrections: why waste a good BBQ sauce and orange juice only to discard it at the end? And discard you must because the juice is way too greasy from the pork. I cooked it in 1/2 cup plain water, which I discarded after cooking, then shredded the meat and mixed it with the BBQ sauce and orange juice. Delicious!

We used 1 and a 1/2 pound pork loin, half a bottle of bbq sauce and the 1 orange juiced for our family of 4 and it was more than enough with some leftovers for lunch. Very good and we all enjoyed it...definately putting this into our dinner rotation!

This recipe was very good. After the pork was done cooking, I removed it from the crock pot and discarded the sauce in the crock pot because it was too watery. Then, I shredded the pork and returned it to the crock pot. I added more BBQ sauce and orange juice. It was very good. Highly recommend.

I use cup orange juice instead the the orange. When cooking the pork, I use only 1/2 the BBQ sauce mixed with 1/4 cup OJ and cook. Twice when I made it, the sauce was too watery so I shread the pork, I do not use the sauce in the crockpot. I then use the rest of the BBQ sauce mixed with another 1/4 cup of OJ. I keep an extra bottle of BBQ sauce on hand just in case.

I served this to friends and got rave reviews...but mayonnaise on the buns, not in this lifetime.
