I love making new dishes using familiar products (like Kraft's Mac & Cheese), but am often disappointed with the results. My family finds these dishes are often bland/tasteless. I think the reason is that the receipt doesn't include seasoning for the added ingredients - this receipt includes a pound of meat without suggesting the use of even a little salt and/or black pepper. I am glad I read the comments & suggestions by other cooks before making this dish. I, too, added onion and garlic powder, but only used half the meat. I also substituted enchilada sauce and added chili powder, some mild canned jalapenos and some salt & pepper. No longer "italian" - but really tasty!!!
