this a messy dessert, but it is awesome, i love chocolate and this is my answer to heaven. execellent!!!!!!!!!!!!! it is soooo smooth and creamy!!!
Generally my attempts do not turn out as illustraed in the recipies; this one is no exception. I had major difficulty with the second (chocolate) layer of the desert. It was very thick and would not spread at all. Not sure what I did wrong.
This is a dessert I would make many times over. Creamy and smooth, with a taste of a nugget filling.
Instead of cool whip I used real wipped cream even better tasting!!!!
This turned out so good and pretty! I made it for Christmas and took one to work with me. I got so many compliments and requests for them I ended up making several more. I made one for a girl at work who does not care for chocolate by substituting banana pudding (in the cream cheese) for one layer and strawberry jello (in the other cream cheese mixture) for the other layer. For the icing, I used white chocolate chips and it turned out so good and pretty!
I made this dessert for some guests, it tasted good but I wasn't anything special. It was way too think, kind of tasted like chocolate cream cheese... wouldn't make it again.
Very disappointed. Didn't care for it at all, and no one at my party did either. It's very pretty, and simple to make, but not good tasting, especially the bottom layer with the pudding mix. What a waste :(
This recipe definitely makes a smooth, creamy, chocolatey treat! I made it just to try it out in case I wanted to make it for a function or event. I didn't have the rectangular pan to pour it in, so I had to use a plastic square-shaped bowl. It looked very pretty after it was frosted with the chocolate glaze! This would definitely be great for after dessert with coffee or even milk. It's almost similar to the chocolate mouse torte. Will definitely use strawberries as someone else suggested.
I was a little nervous about trying this for the first time for Thanksgiving, but it turned out great. It was not too sweet as others claimed, and I really enjoyed it (as did everyone else...none leftover). I served it on a nice platter with fresh strawberries for added color.
Very rich, but a great dessert for a Christmas party.
