Salsa is the key to making a quick sauce with lots of flavor. Try it in this cheesy pasta and chicken breast skillet dish.

What You Need

cups multi-grain penne pasta, uncooked

lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces

1-1/4

cups TACO BELL® Thick & Chunky Salsa

cup frozen corn, thawed

large green pepper, cut into strips

cup KRAFT Mexican Style 2% Milk Finely Shredded Four Cheese

Make It

COOK pasta as directed on package, omitting salt.

MEANWHILE, heat large nonstick skillet sprayed with cooking spray on medium-high heat. Add chicken; cook and stir 2 min. Stir in salsa, corn and peppers. Bring to boil. Simmer on medium-low heat 10 min. or until chicken is done, stirring occasionally.

DRAIN pasta. Add to chicken mixture; mix lightly. Top with cheese. Remove from heat; cover. Let stand 1 min. or until cheese is melted.

So good! I was a little worried about the dryness as it simmered, so I added about 1/3 jar of spaghetti sauce to the mixture. I would have added salsa instead, but none left! Delicious flavors and textures.

For taste I would give this recipe three stars because its good, but not that special. Overall I gave it four stars because it goes a long way. We are on a tight budget and for two adults, this recipe is good for two meals which is so great in this economy!

I made this last night for my family. It was enjoyed by all, I did however omit the green pepper but added black olives and mushrooms. Very nice flavor and will be making it again!

We really enjoyed this. It was quick and easy...a great week night recipe. Will make this again for sure. Would have loved more cheese but resisted in order to keep it at the 450 calories it was designated.

I have made this recipe 2 or 3 times a month since I found it in September while looking for a new chicken recipe. My folks live with us and Mom is picky but she LOVED this one is a keeper for sure
