I make this recipe quite a bit. I would offer a couple suggestions from this recipe. I like to mix come chili powder in the the meat. I also sprinkle the cheese on top of the potatoes about 5-10minutes before it is ready.

This is the much-asked-for recipe of my family of 5 boys, a picky husband, & me. I typically just use green beans (per the request of my husband), but I like it this way the best - with all the veggies. I also add in about a handful or a little more of shredded cheddar cheese to the mixture before adding the tator tots. I know this probably isn't the best thing in the world, but I also fry my tator tots before putting them on top of the casserole. This makes for crunchy tator tots...SO much better!!!!

This makes an awesome meal. My mom used to make this when I was younger; and now I have the priviledge to make it for my family.

I used golden mushroom soup instead of cream of mushroom. It truly was better than I had imagined it would be.

This makes a good dinner! No need to add salt, and you can adjust how much or less of any ingredient. I'll try ground turkey or chicken next time
