I did not have a chili recipe before I made this but now I do! My 6 year old LOVES this and regularly requests it. I did add little extra corn to it and I also add a can of no salt added basil & oregano diced tomatoes (lightly drained). Also we eat it with fritos or crackers.

I think this was a decent base recipe, but I made several changes for my family's taste preferences. I omitted the corn - we just didn't really want that sweetness in it. I'm also not a big fan of beans, so I used just one can of kidney beans instead of two. Since I did that, I increased the ground beef from 1-1/2 lbs to 2 lbs. Also, the amount of tomato sauce just did not seem to give it enough broth/sauce. So in addition to the 16 oz of tomato sauce, I added another 8 oz can, as well as half of a ready-to-eat tomato soup that I had in the cupboard. That made it about perfect. I also wanted a little more complexity to the taste than just chili powder, so I sprinkled in some salt and pepper, as well as just a bit of garlic powder.

Great recipe! Added a dif variety of beans for color and more protein. Omitted corn also. Even froze some for future dinner. Defrosted well. Everyone loved it. Def making again.

I really liked it, I didn't use corn, I don't think corn belongs with chili , but other than that it is delicious and easy to make!

I don't know what people find good about this recipe. Corn does not belong in chili. It had a strange taste and was the consistency of sloppy joe mixture. Other chili recipes are far superior.

This was the best and easiest chili's I've made yet!!! It does not kill your insides unless you add more hot sauce...other wise it's hot enough for my family. Loved it and will make it again and again!!!! Thank you for this recipe!!!! A+ Dottie in West Warwick, RI
