I made these for the first time to bring to work as a birthday treat. I warned the ladies it was quite sweet but their reply was "but they are oh so goooood!" One coworker wanted the recipe so she could bring the buckeye bars along when her crew sets of the 4th of July fireworks in our hometown! Very easy and extremely delicious!!!!
Oh My Goodness! These were awesome tasting, they taste like reese's cup but on a classy level, (you know put on your after five dinner dress). I did change the chocolate, I used Baker's simi-sweet chocolate bars. After the first bite, I knew that this goes with ice cold milk and everyone liked these. (And no its not because we are from the Buckeye state. I will be making these a lot of times through the year.
I would make it again but add less sugar. It was too sweet and too crumbly w/ the frosting not hard enough. Still, it was pretty good.
the buckeye bar,s were love by my family & wanted the recipe they love the peanut butter in it. thank you charlotte
I made this recipe for the first time to take to a family reunion last November. It was a huge hit. We are having another family get together the end of May and I have been "instructed" to bring many more of them again! Easy recipe.
Absolutely love these. I get requests to make them all the time for work friends and family. Super easy, super tasty!
I made these bars twice, and followed the directions exactly. The chocolate was very runny, and would never set up. We took it straight from the freezer, and it was very tasty, but not presentable for parties.
I LOVE these bars! These are just as wonderful as buckeyes but with 1/4 of the work! These were very popular during Christmas!
Made this for a potluck...HUGE hit with all the kids at the party! And so much fun to make with them too; my niece had a blast making them with me and watching all the other kids eat them all up! Plenty of sugar in the recipe, so be prepared!
Very good, I also only used 1.5 cups of sugar and I used 1 cup of peanut butter to help cut down on the sweetness. Another thing I did that I think helped the chocolate not get too hard was I melted it first and then added the coolwhip gradually to the melted chocolate. I will definitley make them again, it was a huge hit with the family!
