Forget the new potatoes! I used instant mashed potatoes flavored with roasted garlic and butter instead. This cut the prep time to a fraction. Since we didn't have an Italian cheese on hand, I used a VERY mild white cheddar. This recipe is a winner! One of those dishes that is really difficult to ruin. Cut the bake time in half if you choose to cheat with instant mashed potatoes. Note there was a lot of water/oil once the meat was cooked with all the veggies. I recommend draining the water/oil before spooning the beef mixture over the potatoes.

Thought this was great! Husband thought it needed a little moisture as was too dry for him, but I had no issue with it. Will definitely make again. Was soooo easy! BTW, I did season mine up some.

I used ground turkey meat (because it's healthier) instead of hamburger, red potatoes (because they were on sale) instead of new, and frozen green beans (because that's what was in my freezer) instead of corn. I love the concept and ease of this dish. I did find that the Italian dressing was not flavorful enough in the meat, so I added more chili powder and cumin. So, it turned out quite tasty. I tend to use recipes as rough outlines, and this one's a keeper. Also it only took 4 of the red potatoes, so I'll be doing something creative with the leftover 2. Maybe some broccoli cheddar concoction.

It was easy to make but very disappointing. The taste was to bland for my family to enjoy.

This recipe was great! My family all loved it. I substituted the beef with ground turkey and used a can of crushed (drained) tomatoes instead of cutting one up. I would make this again.

This was great. My husband loved it. I used roasted red pepper italian dressing and prepared mashed potatoes for the base. Turned out great!

Overall, didn't have very much flavor. We added more italian dressing to the leftovers, and that helped a lot, as did some hot sauce. Next time, I will use more seasoning.
