The roast had great flavor, not to sweet and the bbq sauce didn't over power the beef. The carrots on the other hand were way too sweet. The potatoes were very good and cooked wonderfully. I will definitely make this again but make a separate dish of carrots.
This actually came out much better than I thought it would. The BBQ sauce made an interesting change but a great one. I didn't use flour (I use instant potato flakes). I also added a lot of minced garlic. My family of 5 loved this recipe.
This is a great pot roast. I did not have the original bbq sauce so I use the hickory that I had. So good. My family loved.
It was an easy meal to make. Although I wish I would have put more vegetables in there since it gets soaked up so much by the BBQ sauce. The pot roast came out great though.
Not good at all. The "gravy" made out of barbacue sauce was gross. A truly terrible overpowering flavor.
I made this on a snowy day and it was a hit! My husband loved it! I used 2 cups of water instead of 1/3, it helped keep the roast moist in the roaster and I was able to make lots of gravy - which was delicious! Can't wait to make it agin!
best pot roast i've ever made!! tender, juicy, and sweet. i love how the potatoes tasted after cooking in the bbq sauce. My husband and toddler both loved it!!
It was good but the BBQ sauce was a bit overpowering, will definately make it again but with a little modifying.
Delicious! The family enjoyed it. It was tender and juicy. I would definitely make this recipe again for my family.
I usually agree with others reviews, but on this one I disagree completely. I was so excited about making this pot roast. I cooked for 9 hours on low and it smelled good, but it came out dry, and the veggies were soggy and dark brown from the bbq sauce and the gravy was just okay. It didnt even make enough gravy to cover up the dryness of the roast. I threw away the recipe and will definitely not make again.
