The cake was very sweet. Too sweet really. I might make it again. But, I will revise the recipe. I will probably make my own shortcake recipe and my own fruit filling. Apple would be better.
I have made this a couple times now and changed it up each time with a new fruit. Delicious and easy!
This receipe was so easy to make. It was very moist and everybody loved it.
New update!!! I made this recipe again, this time I used a spice cake mix and apple filling. Everyone loved it at work. Tonight I will use a devil's food mix and cherry filling. HMMM a Black Forest coffe cake What could be better!!

This was good but not great! I made this for breakfast last week and I tried it with the apple filling... It was good but I think I will try the cherry flavor next time... to see if it gives it a little better taste... My hubby & Mother said it was ok and my oldest said it was ok.. but nothing to rave about... so I'm hoping if I try the cherry flavor that maybe it will give it a wow taste instead of an ok taste...
This is a great recipe! I made it the night before to serve the next morning and it was delicious. Very easy and I can't wait to try it with blueberries!
Made this cake yesterday for our teachers' breakfast. I used a yellow cake mix and apple pie filling. Had to bake the cake longer..about 45 minutes instead of the 35 min. stated in the recipe. Made the icing and put it in a sandwich baggy, cut the tip off and drizzled it diagonally on the cake. The presentation was beautiful. This was the cake everyone was asking about and wanted the recipe. It was a very easy cake to put together, and the taste was wonderful!
My family loved this recipe and my 5 year old helped make it. It was so easy to make. Can't wait to try other mixes and fillings
