Life is a bowl of cherries…or better yet, it's a moist coffee cake with drizzled frosting and almonds that yields to sweet cherry filling.

I made this, but used strawberry pie filling. The pie filling just didn't work for me. It was runny, more like a strawberry shortcake. I added a cream cheese filling, which was good. I had to cook it longer than called for. Another type filling would work better, I think. It was good though!
soooo easy and good
Super recipe...very easy to make...carried it to a church breakfast & was asked for the recipe. Will definitely be keeping this one!
I made this and had to throw it out. The cake would not get done in the middle. I left it in quite a few minutes longer and the outside got very brown and the inside was gummy. If anyone has any ideas why this happened, let me know. This is the first Kraft recipe that I have had to throw out!
This was very good and everyone raved about it. I used apple filling. I used white cake mix but the picture in the magazine makes it look yellow? I was surprised how different mine looked but still very the pumpkin suggestion so I will try that next time.
I didn't have a white cake mix so I used a Duncan Hines Butter Recipe Golden mix. Like someone else said I had to put foil around the edges because they browned up way before the center was done. My son doesn't like nuts so I just doubled the icing and it was awesome! Will definetly make again. I have a spice cake in my pantry and a can of apple pie filling that I plan to put together next. So many possibilities. I agree it's more of a dessert than a breakfast item.
I enjoyed this recipe, it is a bit sweet for breakfast, but perfect for brunch or a summertime dessert. It was also very easy to make.
This coffeecake was well received at a early morning meeting. When I took the cover off the cake they said wow before eating it. The cake makes a nice presentation. They even asked for the recipe. The cake is easy to make and the fruit can be suited to individual tastes. I plan to make this again.
SO easy to make! Taste was very good. Made with apple pie filling but will try the cherry next time. I had to put foil around the edges of my (glass) pan to keep from drying them out while the middle still needed more cooking time. Also I didn't read the instructions properly and mixed by hand instead of with a mixer but it still came out great. May have been fluffier if not hand mixed? Oh well it was worth it not to lug out my giant KitchenAid beast. I'll definitely make again. Next time I will try cherry. I think it would be great with pumpkin pie filling too! mmmmmm....
I made it with cherries. It was easy to make. It looked impressive. It tasted good.
