I didn't have a white cake mix so I used a Duncan Hines Butter Recipe Golden mix. Like someone else said I had to put foil around the edges because they browned up way before the center was done. My son doesn't like nuts so I just doubled the icing and it was awesome! Will definetly make again. I have a spice cake in my pantry and a can of apple pie filling that I plan to put together next. So many possibilities. I agree it's more of a dessert than a breakfast item.
I enjoyed this recipe, it is a bit sweet for breakfast, but perfect for brunch or a summertime dessert. It was also very easy to make.
This coffeecake was well received at a early morning meeting. When I took the cover off the cake they said wow before eating it. The cake makes a nice presentation. They even asked for the recipe. The cake is easy to make and the fruit can be suited to individual tastes. I plan to make this again.
SO easy to make! Taste was very good. Made with apple pie filling but will try the cherry next time. I had to put foil around the edges of my (glass) pan to keep from drying them out while the middle still needed more cooking time. Also I didn't read the instructions properly and mixed by hand instead of with a mixer but it still came out great. May have been fluffier if not hand mixed? Oh well it was worth it not to lug out my giant KitchenAid beast. I'll definitely make again. Next time I will try cherry. I think it would be great with pumpkin pie filling too! mmmmmm....
I made it with cherries. It was easy to make. It looked impressive. It tasted good.
I made this coffee cake the same day I recieved the magazine in the mail! I must say that it was very easy to put together and is also low in costs. I did opt to use apples and found that this would be wonderful in the fall! Can't wait to try it again with a different fruit!
This is a very good coffee cake to make and very easy to follow and I used apples and it was very delicious. Make this cake and your family will not be disappointed at all. Enjoy this I sure did
This was easy and delicious! I used apple pie filling and also used light sour cream. I had to bake for 10 extra minutes because the center wasn't quite done. I'm sure I will be making this one again. Thanks!
my kids loved it. easy to make and very tasty!!
It is easy to make it. My family loved it and I am planing to make it again.
