Doesn't take much effort to turn a ground beef skillet into this festive Tex-Mex dish. Just some cheese dip, shredded lettuce, tomatoes and chili powder.

I added Velveeta instead of Cheez Whiz, black beans, Rotel tomatoes, and used taco seasoning instead of chili powder. The results were pretty tasty and had a little zip. It ends up being like the inside of the burritos at all those chain burrito places, but I liked it better.
I added onion to the ground beef while it browned and added rotel to the mixture. I had some left over so I added 2 cups or pasta sauce to the meat mixture and stuffed bell peppers with it. I got two meals for the price of one, literally!
I would make it only with more flavorful additions. There wasn't much to this so it was easy but has no real distinctive flavor.
This was not as good as I hoped it would be, but it wasn't awful either. It was very quick and easy to make, however it was very bland. I think it serves as a good "base" recipe just to get you going, but it definitely needs some tweaking before it's a really delicious dish.
Made some changes, used ground turkey instead of the beef, 1 pkg of chili seasoning instead of chili powder, 14 oz can of reduced sodium chicken broth, used Velvetta instead of cheez whiz, added 1 can red beans. Served it over bagged lettuce. Topped with sour cream. Served with tostitos on the side. Delicious! Both my sons ages 9 & 12 gobbled it right up. Will be making this again.
This was bland. Next time I will add taco seasoning (low salt) instead of the chili pepper. Very easy to make.
This is very bland, not flavorful or spicy like a typical Taco Dinner. I think this recipe needs to be tweaked as it tastes like something is missing!!
