This was a yummy deviation from the standard chicken and pasta dishes I usually make. I seasoned the chicken with taco seasoning while cooking. Also added 1/2 the amount of corn, added green onions and a little milk to make it creamier. I substituted some pepper-jack cheese and added crushed tortilla chips to the top. Very good!
I thought this recipe was pretty good! I'm glad I read some of the other reviews first though. Number 1 - you definately need to season the chicken. If I had any taco seasoning, I would have used that. But I didn't, so I just went with my Season All, I can use that on anything. Number 2 - I didn't have any Cumin, so I didn't use that. Number 3 - It was lacking a little "kick" (no cumin), so I just added some taco sauce (think like the kind you get in the packets from Taco Bell). I used probably 1/4 to 1/3 of a cup. Number 4 - Overall good, but I felt it needed some sort of CRUNCH to it. I think next time, I will serve with some of those tortilla chip stips on top.
My kids and husband love everything that is in this dish but when mixed together in this recipe, they hated it!! I didn't think it was that bad, not great but edible. I ended up throwing 2/3 of it away.
While your recipes can be made with a little less fat content, using 2% products, etc. the sodium content is very high. A way to reduce that sodium would be much appreciated.
I liked this but my family said it was "too cheesy".
Neither my husband or I like this very much. We won't make it again.
I agree with some of the other reviewers who think the recipe is a bit bland. It's not bad though, maybe if there was more sauce to it, it would be better. Also, something that helps is to season the chicken as you cook it. An easy recipe though, and I happened to have all ingredients on hand...Due to it's easiness, I'd probably make it again.
Hubby and I both thought this was kind of blah. Not much flavor. It needs something to give it a little kick and we don't normally eat spicy foods. Not sure if I will make this again.
Easy weeknight meal. I used ground beef instead of chicken and added a taco seasoning packet for more flavor. The cream cheese gave it a nice tang.
Hubby didn't like at all....but teenage daughter loved!...
