The part I had trouble with was the plastic wrap wanting to shift everything when I was first putting the chocolate mousse in, but I am definitely making this again so I feel like I will get the hang of it. I saw somewhere if you spray the pan before the plastic wrap it will hold the wrap in place so I may try that. The recipe was easy though and everyone loved it. Definite crowd pleaser.
The measurements did not make sense on this recipe. The cool whip part mixed with chocolate calls for 1 cup cool whip, but on the measuring cup that is 8oz. having said that it leaves no leftovers. I fudged the recipe myself and it was okay but nothing I would scream over! Plus the wafers don't stay crunchy.
This recipe was so easy and delicious. I brought it to a Thanksgiving dinner. Most people liked it, but due to there being no room in the fridge or the freezer (not even the deep freezer), the mouse melted a lot and was very messy when cutting. I think it being melted also made taste sweeter than it was supposed to. Much too sweet for their taste. So I made it again today and used less Baker's chocolate and less sugar. I used oreo cookies to surround the mouse and crumbled some cookies to make a bottom crust. Also, I put the torte in the freezer so the mouse portion would become more firm and be easier to cut. Mission accomplished. I had two slices after dinner, it was excellent!
This dessert was easy to make and really was pretty to look at. And it tasted oh so yummy!
I also had problems keeping the cookies from falling over when pouring in the mouse mixture. The rest was simple and was a big hit at Thanksgiving dinner.
The hardest part is getting cookies to stay standing while you pour chocolate in. Easy and very tasty.
Great dessert. I didn't have nilla wafers on hand but did have choc pie crust. came out great and will make again and again.
This recipe is great! Everyone loved it. Not only does it taste great, but it also looks great. I will definitely make it again.
This recipe is delicious! I made it with chocolate wafers from Kraft that I picked up in Canada (haven't seen them around here in Michigan) and the crowd went wild! It is a very easy recipe to make and serve. Will definitely make it again!!
