Made for little kids and they loved it...
I mixed refried beans with the keeps the filling from falling out....everyone loved it
I'd never had Empanadas before but loved it! I followed the suggestion of others and spread the bottom crust with refried beans. Before serving, I put diced onions and diced tomatoes on top (lots of them), added sour cream and guacamole - and I had a treat I didn't want to stop eating! Loved it......
I made this last night, my Husband and i both loved it, so easy and soooo good, I served it with Guacamole, Sourcreme and green Onion on the side. It is a keeper for sure, thank you
Made this for dinner and it was really good. I baked it on my pizza stone so it only took about 20 minutes to bake @ 425. I also added some dry taco seasoning to my meat while browning and some queso cheese in the empanada. We served extra salsa and sour cream on the side with a green salad. Quick and easy dinner. Thanks.
has a great flavor and left overs reheat very well. The only thing is it is a little dry so I put salsa on top
Family loves this recipe! Made this a while back and we all loved it; we added refried beans on the bottom like another user had suggested and it was delicious! My husband used this recipe at the fire station and they love it and always ask him to make it!!!
made this recipe with some changes, left out the salsa and added bacon bits and mustard like another children loved it(which is rare). A++ in my book. Will have it on my monthly rotation.
got a question. i found the pie crusts that come in the aluminum foil pans. do you cook the top crust with the pan on or do you take it off? Would crescent dough work for this also?
Did it twice. First time exactly according to recipe. was good, bottom crust a little soggy in the middle part. Second time I added choppedonions, chopped green pepper, garlic powder, ground red pepper, dried cilantro to hamburger as it was cooking. Instead of salsa used a can of diced fire roasted tomatoes(undrained)and a little extra cheese. Used parchment paperto keep the bottom crust from being soggy. I will make my own version (the second) very often! Yummm!
