Beer-Cheese Dip

Beer-Cheese Dip recipe
There's only a quarter cup of beer in this creamy, cheesy, ranch dressing-spiked dip—but it adds just the right amount of hoppy good fun to the mix.

This recipe sounded great when I found it. But as I was mixing it together the smell of the ranch dressing and beer turned me off. I tasted it and it didn't taste bad; but I just couldn't bring myself to eat it. Everyone else enjoyed it though. I made a double recipe and have quite a bit left over. I'm going to add some taco seasoning and other things to it and see what else I can come up with so it won't go to waste.
I made this with the Kraft Ranch Dressing, Philadelphia Fat-Free Cream Cheese and no onions. I liked the yeasty beer taste. It had a sourdough bread taste.
Absolutely loved this dip!!!! Used Ritz crackers & veggies with it. Was a total hit at the party. Used a lager beer also. Loved it!
Awesome dip! Doubled the recipe, used lager beer for more flavor, added some Mrs. Dash for spice and served with pretzels & tortilla chips!
I make this recipe alot! My friends & family love it! I add some old bay seasoning for a better flavor. My sister likes it with a little Cajun seasoning in it to spice it up. Very big hit at my parties.
I make this all of the time and it's always a big hit. Mine is a little different...2 block of cream cheese, 2 cups shredded cheese, 1 package of ranch dressing mix, 1 cup of beer and then the green onions. Makes a larger batch. It's best to let it sit in the fridge overnight. I serve with the braided honey wheat pretzel twists.
I think if it were the package, it would say, "Ranch Dressing Mix". I also don't believe Kraft makes the mix....
I have a question, is the ranch dressing in the package or the bottle
I have been making this recipe for years. Its always a big hit at parties and gatherings. However - I add a tub of sour cream and serve with waffle pretzels for dipping. You cannot go wrong with this recipe - and its so quick and easy to make!!
I too have been making this for years. I sprinkle additional cheese all over the top and serve with pretzels and carrots. This is the dip everyone wants when I ask "what can I bring".
