This was great! My house smelled yummy while it was cooking. My family loved it. I like that my stove was freed up to cook other things for dinner. I did use 4 different varieties of apples. Granny Smith, Braeburn, Honey Crisp, & Golden Delicious.

What I liked most about this is that it was a slow cooker dessert or snack maybe breakfast dish.

This was just great and so easy to make. Next time I would use more cranberries. The nut mixture is just a topping that you sprinkle on each serving. I first did the topping in the microwave and it burnt so I did it again in a small pan on the stove and it turned out wonderful and crunchy. I will make this often!

haven't made this recipe yet, but will be soon, it looks delish. In response to 'a cook' - you may want to reread the directions, it says to mix the dry ingredients with butter and the apples - that mixture gets cooked in the slow cooker, then the wafer/nut mixture is used to top the apple crisp just before serving.

In reference to the review posted by "a cook"; It is my understanding that the wafer mixture is strictly a topping. When you are ready to serve top with the wafer mixture.
