enjoyed this recipe-reminded me of my mom's chicken a la king. i made a few tweaks to my family's liking but it turned out wonderful and leftovers were better the next day! did not use mushrooms or onion but did use frozen peas and carrots together and threw those in with frozen chicken breast (not thighs). chicken shredded nicely and then only had to add the cream cheese the last hour of cooking. we very much enjoyed!
Loved it! Made without the mushrooms and added full container of cream cheese as well as pepper to taste.
This is one of our favorite meals and I have made numerous times. So easy and delicious. I always use chicken breasts not thighs, and add chicken seasoning, basil & parsley to the chicken and flour mix. We also prefer it with potatoes so I peel and quarter those and add to the stew from the start so everything is done at the end of the day and oh so tender.
I just made this recipe and it is delicious, I only left it on 3 1/2 hours on high and it was perfect. Using the right size crock pot matters. Make sure it is filled half way as that will make the difference in the time or consistency. I added a touch of celery seed and that worked well.
I made this and enjoyed every bite it was easy for a cold Sunday meal I did add seasons to it without it would be very bland I will make it again
I would and have made this recipe again. It is so good and so easy to make. The only thing that was time consuming was cutting the thighs into bite-size pieces.
I don't like to cook, so I always follow a recipe exactly - at least the first time. This was easy to make, but it was bland and a little greasy. My husband added some celery salt, which really perked it up. Think I will try it again with white meat, leave out the mushrooms and add celery salt. Liked the suggestion of potatoes.
Would recommend using cubed chicken breast instead of chicken thighs. The meat shredded and had horrible texture. My kids each tried one bite and that was enough... in the garbage. Waste of time and money :(
Remarkable,, next time I am going to and potatoe dumplings, How does that sound? YUMMY, can't wait!!
This was delicious on a cold night. Read reviews and changed recipe slightly but still very good.
