Zucchini "Fries" with Lemon Aioli recipe
Burgers without fries? No way. But how about this crispy, better-for-you zucchini version with aioli? Mayo, lemon and garlic make for a delectable dip.

We cut these nice and thin and baked them on a baking stone. They turned out very nicely. NOT a substitute for french fries, but a nice way to eat zucchini. The aioli recipe could use more lemon zest, in my families opinion, but was quite a nice addition to the zucchini. If you like zucchini, you probably will like these. Cut them thin, as the recipe suggests.

These were not good. They were soggy and the coating did not stick to the zucchini. The cheese got somewhat burnt during cooking. I served this with the Chicken with Lemon Aioli recipe. I mixed the aioli as the chicken recipe called and it was quite good. I won't make these again.

I looked at these as an OK substitution for french fries. The coating needed more flavor, either a different kind of breadcrumbs, or some spices added in there. I choose to slice the zucchini to make chips rather the fries. The thinner chips were the ones that tasted better, if you are making these, I would find a way to add more flavor to the breading. I also did not make the dipping sauce that goes along with the recipe. I instead made the Asian Dipping Sauce I found on here.

I make a lot of these recipes & this one I did not enjoy at all. I cut some in fries and in chips. I would definetly go with only the chips next time & use a different coating did not like the taste.

I won't say they were horrible, as fresh out of the oven they were quite enjoyable. However, the moment they went room temperature, I didn't even want to munch on them in passing. Also, the "dip" with the mayo and such was a waste of ingredients. The whole recipe just seems to be missing something. I'd *like* to try them again, but not until I figure out what's missing.

Super easy to make! I think next time I'll try slicing the zucchini in chips instead of sticks. My kids LOVED these!
