Peppermint-OREO Cookie Balls recipe
Cookie balls. Those words alone could make anyone happy. But what happens when you add peppermint and OREO Cookies to the mix? Very happy times ahead.

I added 1 tsp of peppermint extract to the cream cheese and mixed before adding to the cookie & mint crumbs -- good addition. These taste great (I was worried about the cream cheese flavor, but it is very faint, and does not distract), and I will definitely make these again!

I added 1tsp peppermint extract to the chocolate before coating. I also used my food processor to grind up the candy canes and oreos worked soooo well. I can't wait to make this recipe again.

I have a question...are these 6 full-size candy canes, or the tiny ones? Thanks.

This was an easy no-bake recipe. I can't wait to share it with my friends at our annual Christmas cookie exchange.

Delicious! I would HIGHLY recommend crushing oreos in blender- I've done it that way and also in a baggie. Blender is less mess and faster. Didn't try canes in blender so not sure how that works. Another tip- sprinkle crushed canes on before choc coating hardens, otherwise they just bounce off instead of sticking.

Very good! Phaedrav, when you grind up the cookies the white just kind of disappears, make sure you grind the cookies and peppermint fine so it rolls up smooth.

We made these last night for a cookie walk at my daughter's school fundraiser. We had a blast making them and will be making them again for a family get together. The only problem we had is the balls didn't come out smooth like the picture.

Made for the first time today. Very good and rich tasting. Will make again! I was wondering if anyone has made them ahead and frozen them?

These came out fabulous! I had a lot of fun adding different 'toppings', such as a drizzle of white chocolate, or crushed oreos, in place of the candy canes on some. My one recommendation is to freeze the 'naked' balls for much more than 10 minutes before you dip them. At least 30 minutes. And if you keep them in the freezer and only take out a few at a time, even better. I'm bringing them to my office Holiday Party Cookie exchange, and I am counting on lot of ooohs and aaahs!
