This is a great comfort food recipe. I used chick peas & black beans reduced sodium instead of the beans it called for. It would also be good made with pork or chicken. Will be adding this to my supper time staples.

This has become one of my favorite dishes. Super easy and absolutely delicious. I pair it with cole slaw and a hearty bread. Serious comfort food on a cold, rainy day.

Delicious! This is good as is or a great starter for your own add-ins! I cooked it a long time on low in my crock pot - really good!!

This was pretty good. Next time, I will make it with ground beef instead of the steak (don't think it makes it that much better for the increased effort) and will use something besides butter beans.

Brought this a holiday gathering and it was a hit. So easy to make.

Great recipe. I served this on a layer of Fritos to resemble what I used to eat as a child...'Frito Pie'. Also, I found it easier to just purchase two slices of bacon from the butcher section instead of an entire package and then letting it go to waste. I try not to have too much bacon lying around.

Excellent Recipe. Our entire family enjoyed it very much. This recipe would also be wonderful with Pork, & served over your favorite Pasta or sliced Yukon or Red potatoes. The recipe needs a little more Crunch. If the Bell Pepper is added in as the last ingredient, we found that the crunch was there without the sogginess. Would definitely cook again.

Delicious, and so easy! Served this at a family get-together, and it was the most popular dish by far. Will have to make a double (or triple!) batch next time.
