since it was a pasta bake we added almost a whole can of large black olives that we sliced n half 2 go with the mushrooms /italian theme.. it would change dietery info but u could also add sliced pepperoni 2 this ! ?
This was a family hit! I have a husband and 3 grown sons who came to dinner and their were no leftovers! Next time I'll have to double this recipe. I used 6 slices of thick bacon, chopped and cooked until crisp to add for a more substantial and flavorfull meal.
Like others, I found this recipe to be too dry as is. I add another half jar of sauce, diced tomatoes, and of course more ground beef to balance it all out. I also add some cream cheese and grated parmesan to the hot noodles (the flavored cooking cremes work great, too) and heat everything up with a little minced garlic and crushed red pepper to taste. I always put a final thin layer of the meat mixture on top, and use only mozzarella or provolone. Good dish for a crowd or potluck!
Very tasty but it tends to be a little on the dry side for me and my husband especially for leftovers, so next time I'll just use less pasta. I also don't feel the need for the bacon bits so I leave that out as well.
I have made this recipe numerous times and my family loves it! The only thing I change is the amount of pasta sauce. I increase it by 1/2 (12 oz. more). It tended to be too dry and this really made a difference. It is very good and I recommend it for families!
Really enjoyed it. Used real bacon that we crisped and broke up but overall it was a great recipe and will make again. Love easy and good dishes!
This was very good; however, I think next time I will omit the Italian was a bit over-powering and I think with using the Ragu Garden Style pasta sauce there was plenty of seasoning already.
My family loves this. My boys are very picky and they love it!
I made this for dinner and it was wonderful and then the leftovers smelled so good in the fridge that I was having some for a snack later and then for lunch and dinner the next day. The bad thing about this is that I can't stop eatting it!
I made this last night & my family & I absolutely love it. It is definitely one of my top favorites & I look forward to making it again.
